THEORY OF CHANGE: The Foundation seeks to break the cycle of inter-generational poverty and crime through four (4) classes of long-term, multi-dimensional investments:
The SSI Schooling Support Programme supports the youth to succeed in school with skilled, intensive personalised support.
The SSI Entrepreneurship Programme seeks to address the main barrier to entrepreneurial success for at-risk youths, i.e., access to assets, especially education, training, and advice relevant to entrepreneurship.
Quality Assurance Programmes improves the quality customer care and participation opportunity delivered to the youth by the education system, the healthcare system, the security system and sports, and will increase the level of awareness about climate change and resilience.
Other Charitable Activities contributes to the reduction of poverty and upgrades the quality of crime-prone communities. Graduates from the individually-focused programme will succeed at a higher rate than other high-risk peers who are non-beneficiaries, in school, in avoiding teen parenting, in avoiding the Justice System, and in their post-graduate careers especially as farmers and other entrepreneurs.
The SSI model is expected to generate a high social rate of return to each dollar invested in its programmes and in the beneficiaries, and a high private benefit to each youth recruited into the programme. The theory of change can be described as follows:
